Subject:Edit tempo stopped working SF10 build 507

I used to be able to use Edit temp to adjust the selection length but now whether I change start, end or length the selection on the timeline remains the same. Having to adjust selection lengths by hand is frustrating. Any known cause or fix for this? Would it make a difference that the file I'm working on was opened up from within Vegas? Thanks.
