Subject:Acid Pro 7 - weird audio screeches and glitches

Hello,

I recently reinstalled Acid Pro 7 and I am getting some very odd and random audio glitches. First, it was whenever I play back anything, but now I am noticing that it does it even with the program just sitting there and not playing anything at all. I've tried changing the sound device to all possible choices (ASIO, Sound mapper, etc) but nothing makes any difference.

Oddly enough, I am having the same issues with Vegas Pro 8.0, but I am NOT having the problem with the Acid Music 10.0 demo.

I am using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, if that makes any difference.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks to all who respond.

Nevermind - it was being caused by the demo song, and apparently the lack of default effects:

"The user preset for Plug-in 'Reverb' could not be loaded. The default settings have been restored.
The user preset for Plug-in 'Simple Delay' could not be loaded. The default settings have been restored.
The user preset for Plug-in 'Sony Reverb' could not be loaded. The default settings have been restored."

I noticed the effects were showing in "demo mode" when I looked at them individually -- shouldn't they work right out of the box??

Hello,

If I remember correctly this had to do with the fact that you may have some older Sonic Foundry products installed on your system?

If so, download Vegas 4 and it should install along with the software a Sony conversion toolset. This will allow the plug-ins to be "updated" to work with the Sony products.

I may be wrong, but I performed this only once under Windows 7 x64 and the weird audio screeches and glitches stopped.

I am writing to you from a different system, so the name of the conversion may be off, but under Vegas Pro folder you should see the conversion folder listed.

Thanks.
