saving as mp3 format giving 1sec silent at the begining -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:saving as mp3 format giving 1sec silent at the begining Posted by: karnafas Date:2/10/2002 6:12:50 PM does someone ran into this problem ? everytime i am saving as mp3 format and reopening the file it appears with something like 1 sec. of blank(silence ) at the begining and at the end . fucking weired , isn't ? thanks ahead karnafas

As odd as it may seem, it's actually a neccesary method used to fill in partially used frames in the audio. Also, some other codecs out there delete a bit of audio from the beginnings of files, and the added silence helps counterract that. Try as you might, you cannot take this silence out, and efforts to do so may truncate your files. Hope this helps, Nick LaMartina
