Well, the problem is, the track doesn't have an end. But, you could try and input the time code in an empty track and reverse the event?

I created this a decade ago. Still works. Used to be available at VASST, but they long ago removed everything from their site. Here's a VEG file that will show you how it's done:

Sports Up/Down On-screen Counter

Right-click and "Save As."

One easy way to do this is using the timecode fx as track fx and then set the timeline ruler onto 0:00:00:00 at the last frame.

However how can I decrease the digits in the countdown.

Currently the countdown is -00:01:02;18 (see attached)

How can I can change to show 01:02?

Can't add negative in the forefront :( It resets to 00:00:00) How do you do it?
