Subject:Acid music studio freeze "Loading Child Windows" Posted by: Fin Smyth Date:11/17/2014 4:51:21 PM A solution to this issue: Acid music suddenly stopped working at the loading splash screen at the point "Loading Child Windows", the only option was to restart the computer. But It had worked not 20 minutes earlier. I dug a little deeper, and discovered a very simple solution. On startup, Acid music seeks to load up the last song worked on. normally this is fine. however, I had attached a memory stick which changed the drive letter where my song was stored, so Acid music gets stuck in a loop trying to load from a drive that no longer exists (as the memory stick had shifted it from E: to F:) I pressed Ctrl Alt Del, selected task manager, clicked on the Acid music program listed as running, which then popped up a window saying the drive could not be found, and then Acid music worked as normal. Perhaps the routine in the load up code could be adjusted to cater for a case where the song folder or drive is missing.? you would need to change the options within Acid music not to open last file, or as I did re-assign the drive letter. there is a free program online called "Drivecleanup.exe" its available at www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/DriveCleanup.shtml note : you should disconnect any external drives run it then reboot, finally reconnect your external drive usb etc..
