So I've got a huge batch of 16-44.1k audio files that I need to convert to ulaw 8 bit 8k .wav files for a PBX phone system. I figured I'd go ahead and get the mac version of Soundforge and batch 'em that way. So I pony up the $150 and figure I'm all set. Maybe not. I set up the resample function as the first step in the batch - no problem there. When setting up the "save" module on Convrt the only variation of wave I can save is Linear PCM. Oh, there's presets for IZotope (audio bloatware that I can't say I've ever seen anybody actually USE) but other than that I appear to be hosed. Anybody figured out a workaround? If this isn't possible I can honestly say I will never purchase another product from Sony Creative ever again. If all they're going to do is cater to junior rock stars toiling away in their parents basement I have have no use for them at all in any professional production environment. |

We support µ-law & A-Law in all versions of Forge & Convrt on the Mac. It's listed under "Wave (Compressed)" as opposed to "Wave (Microsoft)". There's a known issue where we report the bit depth as 16 in the template (which is false), but we correctly render as 8bit. Message last edited on11/11/2014 11:13:24 AM bySonySQAPete. |
