Hey guys - had a long editing session today cleaning up and logging a bunch of 96 khz files, first time working with SF in Yosemite. SF has been crashing, oh i don't know... maybe a 100 times? Like once every fifth file, and with no pattern to any file, sometimes it crashes five-six times on one file, somteimes multiple times within a minute, other times none, working fine for an hour or two.... Its crashing doing super basic operations: Normalize, cut, save, open... nothing complex, just the everyday stuff. Can't see any pattern, except "growing annoyance" with the Computer Operator :) So far I haven't lost much work, partly because I'm just going through material, taking notes, trimming off noise, normalizing parts, and saving, if it crashes before save its usually just a cut or normalize that is lost and quickly re-done. But this is kind of NOT very comforting or building any trust in this application for future work, and i cannot remember seeing this flaky app behaviour since Windows 3.11 :) So I'm wondering - is SF primetime ready for Yosemite, working completely fine for everyobody else and something is weird with my setup, or is this kind of new-OS pains waiting to be ironed out and I should cut it some slack and wait for an update? (SF 2.0.2, working with 96 kHz uncompressed WAV files on a Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013, 16 G RAM, Apogee One with recent Yosemite drivers) |

Update - its the Automated Graphics Switching / integrated video card / Nvidia video card making trouble somehow. Before going completely mad, because its kind of impossible to work like this over a long time... I tried finding out more, and started trying to read the crash reports, and it was always either Nvidia or Intel graphics driver words in the report. Disabling the Automated Graphics Switching under Energy Saver seems to have stopped all the crashes for now. FYI! |

Thank you for sharing this issue with us. Could you open an issue with tech support? I'd like to get the specifics of your machine (as well as copies of the various crash dumps) just to make sure that we have all of the details as we look into this.
