I prefer to use 3rd party plug-ins for this (there are some really nice ones out there - PSP Vintage Warmer, Sonic Timeworks Mastering Compressor - but for generic Sound Forge use, seperate your file into desired regions (songs) & run the normalize process on each region. You will need to set the Normalize function to RMS & set the fader to the desired output level. Be sure to set the 'If clipping occurs use:' box to 'Apply dynamic compression'. You could also use the SF Wave Hammer if you have it. The key to this whole deal is to treat each song individually as some mixes may be louder or softer than others. Please be sensitive to the musicality of it though, huhh?! Jeff Lowes On-Track Recording |

Thank you for this advice , but the problem is that my discography includes more than 2500 albums and normalizing it would be a full-life job , and it has to be done in one month... DOH !!! |

In that case, your best option is to use Batch Converter. JL OTR |
