Subject:Best tool for softening p's?

I have a recording of a list of words and in some (eg rope) the p is too strong. What's the best tool for dealing with this? Using SF 10. I also have Nectar, Nectar 2, RX2 and RX4 available. Thanks.

You should be able to tame your plosives in Izotope RX.
Pop filters and proper mic technique are the best prevention.

Thanks, which module/plug-in? I looked for plosives in help but didn't find anything.

Many different ways of dealing with plosives.. EQ'ing out the low-end or a fast fade-in on the plosive often works or overwriting the same word or consonant from another word. However it's surgery and takes time. Same with SpectralLayers or other third-party spectral processor. A fine tuned multiband limiter can be help globally, but wouldn't likely sound as good as surgical repair though.
By far the best is not having to resort to any plosive repairs by using adequate wind protection in the first place

As others have said, they're best dealt with at recording time, but even a slight downwards "v" in a volume envelope can lessen their impact.

Edit - I'm talking about on the Vegas timeline .....

SF/Vegas/Acid plugin Multi-band Dynamics has two specifically relevant presets.

I typed "plosives in Izotope rx" into Google and got 15,000 hits.
Here's a video that came up first; talks about using the Declicker module.

I've had good luck using the Spectral Repair tool in Izotope. Using the spectrogram, it's pretty easy to "see" the offending plosive. Select using the lasso tool, bring up the spectral repair window and attenuate. Works quite well although it would be tedious if you had "lots" of them. As others have said, its far better to avoid them in the first place with a pop filter.
