popping noise when I apply FX on a track -ACID Product Family

Subject:RE: popping noise when I apply FX on a track Reply by: Erik_Nygaard Date:2/7/2002 4:26:13 AM If you are running a combination of ordinary loops and beatmarked tracks and are using processor-hungry FXs on several of these your system may not be up to the task. Try muting all but one track and try several FXs on this, one at a time. It may be just one FX that's causing any problems, you should then try to find another similar to do the job. If every FX you try gives you trouble it's time to get in touch with SF support... You could also try the offending FX as a plug-in in another application to see if it is just a problem using it in Acid. Generally it also pays to upgrade your soundcard with the latest drivers, defragment you hard-drive, keep any music files on a separate drive from your system/applications etc. Hope you get it sorted out Erik

Bouncing down helps to conserve valuable CPU resources and will include the applied FX to the track when bounced down. Solo the intended tracks and use CTRL+M to bounce down. (You can also use the Loop Region to determine a specific area to bounce down with.) Iacobus

A number of them will use FXs and most often the CPU will not cope with this burden. I then solo all drumtracks and render them as a single track with FXs. This may take 5-10 min depending on the complexity. Finally I mute the original drum-tracks (no CPU-burden) so that I can go back and alter them if the need arise. Erik
