hi! I copied a certain bit of mp3 sound from one file and pasted to my newly created mp3 file. Now the problem is that when I save the file and re-open it then sound forge (ver5) automatically fades the beginning and the end of the file which is very annoying. How can I disable this option that the program will not touch my sound at all ie. will not fade out both ends of the sound file. anyone? |

Sound Forge does not apply a fade to the beginning and end of a file, but it does insert a few milliseconds of silence. Unfortunately this is a limitation of the mp3 codec, and there is no way around it. Ted |

Ted is indeed right; it's part of the codec. A way around it? Save the file in something like WAV or Sonic Foundry's own PCA format after you trim the beginning and end. (Only other Sonic Foundry products like ACID can accept PCA at this time.) HTH, Iacobus |
