Ive asked alot of dumb questions in this forum so now is my time to give a tip!...A Roland/Boss Dr. Rtythm 660,670,770 is the best piece of equipment you can buy to make your own drum loops. They are increabably cheap and the sound quaility is AWSOME. I personaly have a 660 I got it at a music store for 200, knowing what i know now id gladly pay DOUBLE! Ive had it for 6 months and i learn new tricks all the time! You might wanna check out aution sites, some guy had one for sale for 40 bucks! but it might have been too good to be true.

One last tip...use the HEADPHONE out not the L/R out, you get the same stereo effect with slightly less white noise! Cya

Do you have your drum machine connected to your PC (Acid)? How do you do that? Did you have to buy any extra equipment

the only thing i needed was a double male 1/8 plug (radio shack $3.99). Plug it directly into your mic/input on your sound card. The trick to making perfect loops is add one count to the original beat, and cut off the last one. Example, if you make a 8 count loop, record 9 then stop...use the loop section tool (blue bars) and zoom in as close as you can at the start..then the last part of the 8 count. use the 9th count to know exactly where the 8th ends. render the loop section, add the new file to your project, switch it from beat mapped to looped, set the master tempo as the same as your new loop and VIOLA! perfect, professional, ORIGINAL loops! sorry SoFo i had to tell em ;) God Bless yall, Peace

Hi DukeNuke78,

I've not used the Roland/Boss units you're referring to, but aren,'t they just drum machines? If so, the patterns you create are similar to what you would create with a Midi sequencer. Sure, you can use very realistic samples for your drum sounds, but it's still not a real drummer, playing on a real kit, right?

WHAT?! what are you babbling about?! all I said was you can make .wav drum loops with this thing! I never said nothin about a real drummer or a sequencer...good grief, Ive had some dumb responces but.....

Hey Guys,

What does it matter? Sound is sound. If it's arranged in a manner that's sounds cool and you can nod your head to it, use it. I'm thinking about getting some sounds buy beating a five gallon bucket and play around with some effects. Who knows, it might be cool and it might make you bounce. It's all just sonics and the end of the day and how you the song writer uses the sound.

I totally agree Kai. Whatever works for ya, use it. I was sincerly just curious about the units, and wanted to understand what DukeNuke was saying about them. My questions were not meant to negatively criticize.

I understand what DukeNuke78 is saying,
But I would rather take the $200 and buy some drum sample CDs and rip the one shots and create my own drum Acid kits, You would have a lot of different kits and not just the sounds from one drum machine. But hey whatever works for U. Let me ask this?
I have a collection of One Shots Acid Kits already set up in Acid Zip format, In all about 300-400 kits some have 8 to 256 one shots in each kit. I cannot sell these because I sampled them for everything under the sun. I have mostly drums used for Hip-Hop,R&B and Old School stuff like that. I need to talk to someone to see if they will post them. Would this help any one? I can't promise anything just asking!

Yes, I was going to ask Sonic Foundry to put it up on there web page so guys who are looking for Drum Sounds could download them for free. May we could start a place people could post and download one shots in Acid 3 zip format?

My ittie bitti posting got so many replys, my how they grow fast.ANYWAYS, i just got a Boss Dr. 202 groove box, its phat, I personally like to make my own loops, im not tryin to take money outcha pocket Mac i just saw a bunch of people ask how to make loops and i thought id share how i did it.
