Subject:Varying the rate of a recording

I've recorded a sound bite to which I would like to apply a variable rate by varying the Scrub Control. Is there a way to record a variable rate file? I realize this forum isn't for SF 9.0c which is what I use, so if I'm out-of-bounds, and can't get help here, perhaps someone can point to another forum.
Thanks.

Actually this forum is for Sound Forge of all versions, so you're all good.

Do you have any other audio software, such as Vegas (Movie Studio), ACID, or even any other version of Sound Forge? You can launch any of these, set your sound card to record "what u hear", or "mixed output" and then they can record what you're playing in Sound Forge with the rate slider.

You could also take a look at Effects / Pitch Bend, but this won't necessarily give you the fine control you're after.

Addendum to Kelly's suggestion.
Some sound cards/PCs do not support recording 'What you here'. 'Stereo out' or 'Mixed output.. If that's the case, a third party utility can. Search this forum for specifics if it's needed..

Thanks. I was able to record the increased rate in Vegas Pro.
