I have recently purchased the Acid Pro 7 upgrade from Acid Music Studio 10, and I am generally pleased with it. However, I also have a Zoom R8 that I would like to use as a control surface with Acid Pro. It works very well as an audio interface, but when I try to configure Acid Pro to work with the R* as a control surface it locks up completely, so much so that I have to reboot the computer. If anyone has suggestions for a workaround I would appreciate it. |

You probably need to set the R8 into a Mackie Emulation mode (if it doesn't conform automatically), then select Mackie Emulated as a controller in Acid. If the R8 has that... The Behringer BCF and others do .... geoff Message last edited on9/6/2014 6:34:38 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

I looked at the user guide for the r8. Doesn't say much about the control surface implementation. No discussion of the MIDI messages it sends. If it has a Mackie Control mode definitely try that. If not, then you can set up a generic mapping in ACID to allow it to control basic aspects of ACID. In this configuration ACID will only receive commands from the device. ACID can not send message back to the device to change its "display" - no fader movement on changes in ACID will be reflected back; LED indicators; etc. Peter |
