I had been a beta tester for 1.0 & 2.0 and have been using SF a lot in recent weeks. Here is an aggregated list of all things I've found since then--the first being a recent issue, and obviously a serious one. 1. SF crashes during playback. It's preceded by a 1-2 second freeze, after which it quits out and pops up an error report dialog. Been doing this more and more lately...hmm. 2. RMS Normalization sometimes produces glitches/artifacts at the beginning of some attacks. Even setting the attack ms to 400-800 (which was beeping at me as well--why?) doesn't seem to diminish this behavior. This is with "volume contour" checked. Was normalizing a mono vocal track and some attacks were cutting in/popping very noticeably; unusable. 3. I can open & edit a mono 24bit/48kHz file but that option isn't listed for saving (WAV). 4. Opening a 16bit file while a 24 bit file is open causes the 16 bit file to play back at a higher speed/pitch. Some kind of bit depth conflict going on there. 5. SpectralLayers Pro 2.1: Mouse cursor still disappearing while editing; buttons will display moused-over state, but the cursor comes in and out. 6. SL Pro 2.1: Some editing tools, while being applied manually with the cursor, cause the visual feedback to halt completely; only after releasing the button and waiting a few seconds does the edit complete and update on the screen. Is this a CPU/RAM issue? I'm on a 2.5GHz i5 iMac w/ 20Gb RAM, which would seem sufficient...no? Other than that I love both apps a lot. Still want a batch processing option in SF :( I could really use that. Message last edited on9/1/2014 11:18:11 AM byemlyn. |

"Still want a batch processing option in SF :( I could really use that" Have you tried convrt? It is bundled with Forge 2 and is our OSX batch converter. Peter |
