Subject:USB Sound Device Recording

I have been using the "Line In" with my NEC Laptop to record with Sound Forge 4.5. The new Laptops do not have a "Line In" jack so I am considering using a USB device. Does Sound Forge work with USB Devices?

It should. Such devices have drivers that interface with whatever software you're using (in this case, Sound Forge). You should then be able to select the specific device for recording on the "Wave" tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar.

Yes works, I tried with an iMic, if you want a good pro solution go to www.sounddevices.com and look the USB Pre.

As long as the USB device provides drivers supported by Sound Forge (MME,DirectX) then this shouldn't be a problem. Have a look at emagic's EMI 2|6 if it's not too expensive for you: http://www.emagic.de/english/products/hardware/emi26.html
