Subject:Cannot insert KitCore grooves into a MIDI track

I just installed ACID PRO 7 with all of the associated extras, and I can pull up the KitCore drum kit and audition all of the grooves by clicking the "play" button in the soft synth properties window ... but I cannot figure out how to get any of these great grooves into my project! I have tried recording into a MIDI track, and I get a blank (silent) event on the track. Actually, I cannot record MIDI events into a track using either KitCore or the ARIA soft synths, but they playback fine. And when I try to drag a groove from the soft synth properties window into an existing MIDI track or a new track, nothing happens, i.e. grooves do not appear to be something that I can drag and drop (as mentioned in the KitCore manual). When I use the Sony DLS Soft Synth, I can record MIDI tracks just fine by clicking on the virtual keyboard in the soft synth properties window while recording a track. But when I try to do the same thing with either ARIA or KitCore, I get a blank recording. I am pretty sure that I have properly registered both KitCore and ARIA. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? |

Hmm, I wish I knew what was wrong, but it seemed to work for me. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Q to insert a new MIDI track. I clicked on the MIDI output button and chose "Insert Soft Synth..." and loaded the KitCore. Then from the plugin window I went to grooves and I dragged the groove to the timeline. It created a looped MIDI event with the appropriate drum kit. I also deleted the track. so that I had a blank project. Then from the menu I went to Insert->Soft Synth... and similarly added a groove successfully (with a track the same name as the groove). Do neither of these methods work for you? |

Thanks for responding! Neither of those methods works for me. When I left-click and hold on a groove in the KitCore soft-synth windows, my mouse pointer does not change and dragging and releasing over a blank area of the timeline or over a MIDI track has no effect. It's like grooves are not enabled for drag-and-drop. When I click the "About" button in the settings of KitCore, it shows the product registered in my name and serial number. I am stumped. Is it 64-bit and 32-bit incompatibility? Something is not right, some setting buried somewhere, or I'm not in the right edit mode, something .... |

KitCore grooves ? That's something I've not heard of. I've only ever used KitCore as a VSTi, and trigger the selected kit drum sounds from a MIDI controller ( or a MIDI track progrmmed from a controller, or 'drawn'). Or does KitCore have a groove library of loops as well ? geoff |

Yeah, on the plugin window, there's a button called "Grooves". When you click on that it shows a little graphic representing the MIDI data. When you click and drag on that graphic, your mouse pointer is suppose to have a plus sign below it and you're supposed to be able to add it to your project.
