My laptop has Windows 7, so I had to buy ACID 8.0. I just got it a few weeks ago, new. I successfully loaded the sample loops onto my hard drive from the disc, then bought three loop libraries from the store: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/whiterabbitasylum http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/toyz http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/processeddrumkits A significantly large number of the loops will not preview within ACID, so I'm unable to use them. The loops that fail to load change each time I open ACID. They play properly when loaded into iTunes from Windows Explorer. I don't get any error messages when I attempt to play them in ACID. They just won't play. Since I've had this problem from the start, I have yet to use the software to make or save a song. I'm sad and would very much like to use it! I'm especially upset since I actually bought loop libraries. I've contacted online tech support. They suggested I reset the software. I had just uninstalled and reinstalled it, but did the reset anyway. It didn't change anything. Please help! ;-D |

I used to have the same problem on my previous system. Some Wave files just didn't preview within Acid. I think the problem is with your sound card or the codec within the wave file. Have your tried changing the audio device setting within your Acid? VMP |

I tried and investigated your suggestions. They didn't solve the problem, but I appreciate the help! I originally downloaded the sound files to my 'download' folder and then copied them into my 'ACID Music Studio 8' folder. I discovered last night that they work when accessed from the 'download' folder (while still not working from the copy folder). They're still working tonight. Yay! I don't understand why they would all work in one folder and only some will play while in the other, but I'm happy I can access them all now. ^_^ Thanks again for your advice! |
