low memory message

I have Vegas Pro13 on my desktop but just installed it also on my laptop. For some reason when I add an audio track and arm for record I get an error message saying that my memory is low. I have no other programs open. On my C drive there is 42GB free of 186 and on my recording drive I have 236GB free. That should be fine but I keep getting an error message.

That message is probably referring to RAM memory.

How much RAM has laptop got. Also what are the virtual memory settings ? (System | Properties | Performance | Advanced).

Laptop has 8GB RAM. Virtual Memory (Total page file size for all drives) is 8169Mb. My hard drive is partitioned into 4 drives (it came that way). C: is 186Gb, and the other three are about 234Gb each.

What OS is on your laptop?

What audio hardware does your laptop have?

What devices are listed by Vegas for audio?

What audio device is selected in Vegas?

Please fill out your system specs for both your machines in your user profiles.

What audio device is Windows using for its default?

What audio device did you have selected when you got the error message?

I am using the M-Audio usb interface. I tried arming for record the following day after posting the memory error message and everything worked with no error message. I have no idea why this was the case. I tried for an hour trying various settings the one day, getting the error message every time. The next day I didn't get an error message and I had selected the same settings. Any way, everything is working as of right now. I will keep my fingers crossed that it will continue to work.

In any case, glad your up and running.
