Typically "Local disc C:\Program files'> VST" but they <.dll> extension con be put anywhere. Just set the Default and Alternate search folders which SF looks for at start up> "Options> Preferences> VST Effects"

Thank you. I installed in the file of VST The sampler Kontakt 3 (Native Instruments). Why does not it appear in the menu FX Favorites de Sound Forge?

Because it installed somewhere other than the standard VST folder, and you didn't add it's path to the SF VST paths as described in rraud's reply.

I don't think you can actually use a VSTi in SF .

Sound Forge supports VST effects, Kontakt is a soft synth - VST instrument.

There are versions of some VSTi that provide an FX version, and they can be used as a VST effect. However, they require a mechanism to input MIDI to allow them to produce audio. Forge does not support MIDI input routing to a VSTi.
