I think it would be very useful to be able to have sub-regions. Have two different metadata lists, one for regions and another for subregions. Then have buttons to toggle the visibility of each.

So a region with in a region.

What problem would this solve for you?

It would reduce clutter. I often want to divide a file in more than one way.
