I seem to remember being able to do this in the past: select one audio device for recording and a different device for playback. I can't seem to find this in Sound Forge Pro 10. Has it been removed, or was i looking at something different before? If Sound Forge can't do this, it really oughtta. |

Try using the Windows Classic Wave Drivers. In theory, you should see all available audio devices that Windows can see and use. Or, you'll need to look at something like ASIO4ALL to wrap your devices into one driver. Rob. |

Rob, thanks! The classic wave drivers gets me partway there. It drops the inputs from my 16-channel external sound device down to merely L&R, which is ok for most things i do, and lets me pick a different device for playback. That'll do for now. But when i get out in the field and do multitrack recording i'll have to go back to the dedicated US-1800 driver to get discrete input channels. Will take a look for ASIO4ALL drivers to see if they support that device. Would just be nice if Sound Forge let me pick the US-1800 drivers for recording and some other driver for playback. Please?
