I have just recently started using Acid 3.0 to record some of my own loops and tracks, and have had no big technical problems (aside from a slight static when I move my mouse when the track is playing - thoughts?). I read the Sims Teach Yrself Acid book and learned a load of information - I can't recommend this book enough; so many issues I see posted here are covered in this book. However, I would like to increase the power and flexibility of my home studio setup by adding an outboard sound mixer. I have a Creative Audigy EX sound card which I just purchased and I don't particularly want to have to buy a new sound card. Every product I've looked at doesn't seem to include Acid support. Mostly I'm using it record guitar tracks, but will move on to vocals and possibly softsynths and MIDI. Is there a practical solution? |

Hello, About the first thing you said make sure the option "Use Slower Updates to Prevent Playback Clicks When Editing" selection in general prefrences, I believe it's the last check box in the list. And as far as your plans to expand, I think it sounds good and the sound card you have will do fine for now, What I did was buy everything a piece at a time, and just try to plan ahead when you're buying a new piece of equipment. Good Luck, Rockit |

Thanks for the response. "Use slower updates..." is in fact checked. Could it be a problem of not enough RAM - though I'm running at 256K. Like I said, it's a pretty minor static, but it is somewhat annoying when making changes on the fly. About the board: any suggestions? |
