You might want to watch this video presentation from NAB about what new features Vegas 13 offers.

First of all, there are lots of threads here on the forum recently about the pros and cons of Vegas 13. (Seems that there are more pros than cons.) Secondly, what version of Vegas are you currently running and what third-party software do you think needs to be updated?

There are already a number of these "Should I upgrade?" threads on the forum so I don't know what more can be added that hasn't already been discussed. Have a look at those threads and if they don't convince you and you have something specific that hasn't already been addressed then I'm sure someone here will try to help.

From my point of view, stability is the most important reason.

Yes, I agree.

I am a bit disappointed that, once again, after un-installing the Trial of SVP 13, installing the paid-upgrade "full-version" (Build310), SVP13 crashed on start-up. "Not Responding." The very first time !

I am not a professional video editor. If I was, and this was happening, I would be livid !

I'm a professional music composer using Steinberg Cubase 7. Say what you will about Steinberg and/or Cubase, but, one thing is for sure, Cubase is rock solid stable. I mean Rawk Solid !

I read a lot of these threads in different forums. One thread I read is about BCC8 not having an installer for Vegas 13 so I'm more or less forced into buying BCC9. NewBlue Titler 2.0 is clunky in Vegas 12, but maybe the cure is in NB Titler 3.0 for another $100 on top of a very recent 2.0 after an additional style upgrade from NB Titler1.0. Maybe I'm not reading into all the "positives" other than some ease of use features in the way the tools are laid out.

If you do upgrade to VP 13 then yes you will need to upgrade BCC8. The BCC9 upgrade price is $195 which is about $50 cheaper than was the BCC8 upgrade.

Having said that, I really haven't noticed much difference between VP 12 & 13. Maybe stability and GPU operation are better in VP 13 but it's hard to tell because VP 12 worked fine for me.

If the Vegas Cloud and iPad app are something you'd use then upgrade. If you want a free copy of New Blue VFX 6, iZotope Necter Essentials and Titler 3 for $99 then go for it. If you want some editing buttons underneath your preview window then only VP 13 has those...I'm running out of reasons to upgrade.
