Vegas Pro 13 310 - conflict with J River solved

Thanks to Kraznet for this info. Vegas Pro 13 has a conflict with J River Media Center which stops Vegas from starting. This was not a problem with Vegas Pro 12. I uninstalled J River and Vegas 13 started up fine. Will someone at Sony support please look into this. I use J River Media Center to play high resolution music files and would like both to work.

Hi,

I've noticed you've just posted 3 times in different threads on this forum. I think we all understand your frustration, but we do need to recognise that there is not alot to be gained from multiple separate posts, if we all headed that direction, the forum would become very inefficient. Maybe once is enough and then you can view the entire thread of helpful responses from the many informed and willing colleagues who participate to help our education and provide help when needed.

I'm very pleased to hear it sorted out your problem atodzia. I had tried all the other suggested fixes and it was only when I noticed that J River showed in the start-up scan before the crash that I decided to try uninstalling it on a whim. So at least the two of us managed to get V13 working finally. It is indeed strange that this problem doesn't occur with V12.

To be honest after my preliminary testing I don't think I will upgrade to V13 as for the price there is not really that much extra that V13 brings to the table so I will probably wait until V14.

Regards
Kraznet

I just heard back from Sony support and they are aware of the issue. They told me to install J River now and it should work. I installed it and Sony Vegas starts with no problem and J River works. I guess there is a conflict when first installing and J River can't be installed until after Vegas 13.
