Most popular ink jet printable DVDs?

Maybe this question is not kosher for this forum, but...

I used to get my blank ink jet printable DVDs from our local Costco store. I think (but not absolutely sure) that they were TDK -R. A while back they stopped selling them so I started getting them elsewhere and have had difficulty finding inexpensive ones that don't have compatibility issues on some DVD players.

I'd love to know what DVD media (not Blu-Ray) that folks have found to be the most compatible yet affordable on both DVD players and Blu-Ray players. Since "affordable" is a relative term, let's settle on a unit price of around 40 cents or better when bought in lots of 100. Am I dreaming here?

You will get the best quality for the best price all Blu-ray and other optical media from Meritline. You have a choice of many brands as well as inkjet surfaces/surface areas to pick from.
I have used Meritline for ordering thousands of discs over 10 years and have never ever been dissappointed.

I have always used Verbatim. Never had a problem.

Meritline or Amazon for good prices.

Maybe i just don't know how to search properly, but when i was comparing Meritline vs. Amazon, most of the Meritline prices were 1.5 to 3.5 times higher than the same items from Amazon sellers. I definitely wouldn't consider Meritline to be an affordable option. Their prices were more on the premium level, at least on the items i was finding.

I get Meritline emails and that is when you get the good deals. I have found Amazon to be consistently cheap on the Verbatim white label disks.

So far, Taiyo Yuden TYG03.

The TYG03 has a 45mm non-printable centre. A later model would be better from that point of view. Otherwise, a good brand and model.

I thought TYG03 had a recommended printable area of at least 25mm to 116.5 mm (inkjet). Has this changed?

I've been using the Taiyo Yuden Watershield DVDs for years. The customers love the glossy finish. Use these and you will never want to use the flat, dull standard DVDs again that everyone else uses. Meritline is probably not the cheapest but I've been very happy with their service. My last order was for 100 discs and 100 paper sleeves. The total including shipping was $71.69

I measured what is supposed to be a TYG03. Nero DiscSpeed reports it as TYG03. Perhaps TYG03 has changed or I was sold a pup.

I did a search and although not conclusive, it may be that TYG03 refers to the dye or the recordable surface, and not the label side.

Yes, TYG03 is the media ID/ code. Luckily, with my JVC/TY white inkjet printable Watershield DVD-R discs I've so far come across only the "hub printable" (16x, MID TYG03, batch code GHxxxxxx) ones.
