How about making a new Acid pro instead of new video programs. Acid pro is very buggy and Sony has never bothered in fixing these problems. Update the current Acid Pro 7 or make a new one. Acid Pro 7 is by far the most poorly crafted DAW i have ever used. Please Sony Fix Acid Pro 7 or make a Acid Pro 8, Acid pro has not been updated since 2010. That is 4 years. I say its about time a new Acid Pro should be made. I am very disapointed that i spent 250 bucks on cheap buggy software. All i am asking is fix it or make a better Acid Pro.
Please and Thank you.

$250? You go ripped off. Sony retails it for $150. Or maybe you got it a long time ago. But if it's "by far the most poorly crafted DAW I have ever used", then why on earth would you want to spend even more money on a new version?

I'm all for a 64-bit version of Acid Pro, but your arguments lack logic.

And as someone who uses only a few plugins, to create video soundtracks, I have to say that Acid Pro 7 is by a long shot the best DAW I have ever used. Even now.

well hoping they will see this and at least fix some of the bugs in it, live midi editing crashes program. i see potential in Acid pro but the lack of commitment to keep it updated disappoints me, and if they do happen to make a better working DAW then yes i would buy it. Just Acid Pro 7 not what i expected. and seeing how rude people are here id rather stick with image line products.

Apologies for my rudeness. Though you did come on pretty strong in your first post. I'm with you regarding the lack of support or updates, and long ago submitted my own list of bugs to fix...which were confirmed by Sony developers but never acted on. And anyway, the things you mentioned have been exhaustively discussed in other threads.

That said, even in its heyday I never would have considered Acid Pro to be the be-all-and-end-all DAW program. It's great (and still is) for constructing compositions, or working live, using loops and a range of MIDI and/or instruments and mic inputs. But as a waveform editor, among other things, it was always awkward to use. It seems that aside from the quite legitimate issue that 64-bit plugins won't work, most complaints have come from people trying to push the program to its limits. And as much as Sony really ought to meet the challenge of making Acid Pro more robust for those power users, I'm not convinced that was ever the intention of the developers.

Still 64-bit support is all I need.

" live midi editing crashes program. "

Not for me it doesn't. Would you like to try and figure out what is wrong on your system and fix it ?

Firstly suggest elucidate on what exactly you mean by "live MIDI editing".

geoff

PS A 64-bit version of A7 would be great, but I suspect a lot more is required than a simple recompile. And an A8 would be even better.

personally i would rather stick with Image line plus its free updates for life instead of having to repurchase updates here, Sony is rip off central lol, im done with sony products. Also, what i mean by live midi crashing, is when i play track and edit in track while its playing whole program crashes, and yes i am running 64 bit, just sony sucks, sound quality crap, every thiing about it is dog shit. It is what it is. Personally the VSTi that come with acid pro are weak compared to Image Line. my personal opinion. No point in waiting for updates that never gonna happen. (shrugs shoulders) oh well.

It took you until just now to realize that Acid Pro is not getting anymore updates? FYI - we haven't had a update in over 4 years and new version in over 6 years. In other words - this product is done.

That said - I fail to see the reason to stop by and trash Sony. Enjoy your Image Line toys and move along.

I'm still using AP7 and released and album a couple of years ago 100% made in it so I think it's one of the best (yes I do own Cubase and Abelton Live, tried Logic on the Mac and the new Bitwig etc but still think Acid Pro is the best to work with and easiest) and yes it have some bugs and I must say it's pretty awful but does what it suppose to.

What I can figure out is why they keep updating Acid Music Studio and not the Pro? Since it's pretty much the same program but Studio is a bit stripped. :-(

Maybe if you fixed your capslock key you could figure out how to re-size your level meters.
