Subject:Alternative to Wave Hammer?

I'd like to move from the PC version (I have to use Parallels in order to run it on my Mac) but am still completely lost without Wave Hammer. I have a feeling that there are alternative ways of performing the same function using other plugins and it's my ignorance of what Wave Hammer is actually doing that is the problem.

I can't seem to find any other help on this. If it is possible, can anyone explain which functions I can use in the Mac version to achieve the same results as Wave Hammer? Any online tutorials?

Thanks all, much appreciated

Wave Hammer is, at it's core, a compressor with a few extra fills and some more automatic operation modes. You can accomplish pretty much exactly the same thing with the included Dynamics/Graphic effect. You just may have to experiment and tweak a bit more than you're used to with Wave Hammer.

If you want something closer to automatic with less fiddling, Process/Normalize with Averaged RMS selected is probably closer to WaveHammer, but with far less customization.

Thanks so much Chienworks, I really appreciate your response. Your pointers were really handy and in fact it's given me a bit of confidence to look at more processes than I've ever done before. I'm sorted now, probably with better results than when being lazy with Wave Hammer!

There are still many details I'm hoping Sony will add to the Mac version so it's great to get this one off the list.

Cheers

Hey, there's nothing wrong with lazy if it gets you the results you need. I probably use WaveHammer more than all the other effects (both audio and video) combined.
