What happened to the Remote Recording Window in SF11? When I go to the help file > index tab and search for Remote Recording, Remote Recording comes up but it points me to a page which does not explain how to access the remote recording window like in SF10. Has the Remote Recording Window been removed from the software? |

Yes, this wonderful feature has been removed. IMO, version 11 is a clunker. |

I'm begining to think you're right about v11 being a clunker. |

I agree with you, SONY has made some mistakes in this version, one of the worst was the exclusion of remote recording window. I believe that we will not upgrade from 10 to 11. I will go discourage my colleagues who also use the remote window during the recording sessions of voice migration to the SF 11. I hope it SONY will go back and add the remote window recording, otherwise i will seek another application soon. |

I wish I'd read this before I shelled out for the upgrade, otherwise I wouldn't have shelled out. This is a phenomenally valuable feature which needs to be restored. |

I completely agree. I do VO work & constantly have a script on-screen & SF in foreground. I've had SF since version 4 and this is one of the reasons I considered SF to be the only program I'd consider using. Had I known this was taken away...would NOT have upgraded. Not to mention the lousy documentation that makes it look like it's still included and that I'm an idiot for not being able to find it. I've had some major issues with Vegas in the last year as well. Is SONY purposely trying to drive customers away? |

Yep, doing voiceovers with the floating remote just makes so much sense that I have to ask, in case any Sony types are lurking: what is/are the reason(s) for the removal of Remote Record? |

I just upgraded tot SF11... if only i knew that Remote has been stripped i would not have done that. BUT my main worry is that Sony does not respond at all to our complaint... !! |

This is a disaster. Developers, have you ever tried to record without checking the input levels first? It's not possible? The recording window and remote recording window was/were one of the best features of sound forge going back to its Sonic Foundry days. Please help. Please fix. |

bensonw - "This is a disaster. Developers, have you ever tried to record without checking the input levels first?" Suggest you put your complaint directly to SCS thru Support portal; although SCS staff may peruse these Forums from time to time, you aren't "speaking" direct to SCS on the Forum, just other users.... BTW you can see the input levels before recording quite easily, just have to change a few settings; the pity is that SCS didn't make that the default situation !!!!! |

So glad I avoided this downgrade. I'd like to know the reason as well - sabotage? |

Well, while i can certainly agree with you folks and support you in principle, i must admit i haven't used the remote record window since i upgraded my video card above 800x600. Now i usually have Sound Forge itself in about a 500x300 window in the corner of the screen and don't bother with the remote window anymore. There's still plenty of screen space to see other things. Also, with a single click i can easily change Sound Forge to full screen or back to the smaller window any time i want. True, it shouldn't have been removed, Equally true, i haven't needed it or used it for at least 15 years or so. |
