I have a music band video record, but it is live and the sound track is poor quality. I need replace this sound with studio record sound. When I stretch the new track to the same time how old track, the problem is, that the tempo in live record is not constant. Then on video see I singer say "hoo" and sound is a little before or after this moment. This moments are in each song more. Can I somehow solve this problem. Thanks for Your tips. Hroch |

You need to edit the video to fit the new audio. You can do this with Vegas or another video editing program. |

and also, when you see a rock video and they are playing on a stage, in most cases they are lip syncing to the studio recorded track, just so they don't have the problems you're running into, or they play to a click track when playing live. |

Thank You for Your suggestion, if I good understand, You recommended me take a studio record and use it how playback on the stage. However I can not this make, because the band is five years dead [play not]. In hand have I only this video record and better sound on CD. Hroch |

If your live audio track is unusable, and the band is no longer available, your just going to have to edit the picture to the new sound track. Your never going to get it exactly synced but if you have some wide shots to use, it's not as noticeable. Your not alone with this, even big-name bands, ie: The Stones, have done it this way, and somtimes it's so far out of sync it's ridiculous, and you wonder what the producers and editors are thinking or hearing. Good luck |

You could also load the good recording into Acid or Sound Forge and make the tempo match that of the live recording. This is probably you're easiest solution, but still will not be perfect. |

If your not into video editing I suggest that you find a GOOD Video/Audio editor in your area and ask them to fix this. If you were my neighbor I would try to fix it, Free. I think this will take some tweaking both with audio & video and as Rednroll said may never be perfect. Dave M. |

All Friends thank You very much for Your help and refreshment. Yesterday I try make something in ACID. I hope it will be good. But I am a beginner in ACID. I must take a course. Now have I problem in ACID: I take first 10sec of song, in good point in video press H {time marker}, in good point in new sound press M {marker}, right click on H marker - "Make time stretch..." and both tracks go to one point. Excelent. Now take I next 10 sec and make the same. But attention: The tempo change from begin the song until this point. I need somehow LOCK the previus part, which did I repair. Once more great thanks for Your Interest help me. Best Regards Hroch |

Sorry, you're English is a little hard to follow. So I'm assuming English is probably your second language? Anyways, I think what you might need to try is 1 of 2 things that might work. You can cut the music apart in sound forge at the different tempo changes and save each to a seperate file which you can then assign the file it's original tempo using the Acid properties command. Then you can load the seperate tracks into acid and edit them back together. Or in Acid you can place a "Tempo Change" Marker on the timeline. I haven't used tempo changes much in Acid, but it should work for you. It will keep the master tempo at the beginning of your song and then change where you place the tempo change marker. I think it's a command "insert tempo change". |

Very good, it reminds me of my trip that I just got back from in Brazil. I met my wife's parents and I am currently trying to learn Portuguese, so that I can talk to them. I do not know enough, so I brought my computer and used a translation program to talk to them. Try this translation program on this website and tell me what you think? http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr |

Hallo Rednroll! Thank for more lingual news. Glad, that at least in one direction - from Czech into English - function PC TRANSLATOR well. Contrariwise it is disaster. Sometimes for laugh. Thanks for link on translator, has however some mistakes: no-contains Czech. Isn't too omnipotent - Muttersubstanzen. So that with I must satisfied with peculiar to deduction. And from where you are you? Already am with align with ACID. Work am mistakes in setting "Tempo change". Now everything function fine, Record they are surprising. Thanks Hroch |

Piece of knowledge: As far as in ACID "Track Properties", "General", "Beatmapped" check "Preserve pitch when stretching", sound has uneasy metal character with "flanger effect" and in part "Leslie effect" - overflow from channel into channel. Better, but complex is correction pursue in SOUND FORGE. Regards Hroch |
