How do I record from an audio cd to the sound forge editor?

If you have Sound Forge 5, place the CD in your CD-ROM drive, under
the tools menu select "Extract Audio from CD". If you have more than
one drive you'll have to select the appropriate one. A list of tracks will
show up on your screen and you may select any or all of them. If you
read by tracks, each track will end up in a window as a separate .wav
file in the Sound Forge desktop. If you read by CD, the entire CD will
be a single .wav file.
