I'm using Sony Sound Forge 10 (build 252) on Win 7 Pro. I use Sound Forge to edit podcast interviews. Apologies in advance if this is a rookie mistake. Problem: I just finished editing a 24 minute stereo .wav file. I saved it as a 96 Kbps mono MP3 file. Although the file sounds great in .wav, when I opened the MP3 file, part of the file is blank (no audio). The part that is blank in the MP3 file is a section where I mixed a two-channel recording where one of the channels was inverted. The file section sound fuller and richer when one of the channels is inverted, but the file doesn't save. Any ideas of what to do? Thank you in advance. |

Can you post part or all of the file? Though I would surmise the 'blank section' was 'dual mono' and is likely canceling out. ie; 180 degrees out of phase. Try correcting the phase on that part. |

By "inverted" I presume you mean "phase inverted" - that is the problem - although it creates an "out of head" experience in stereo speakers, if the material is essentially mono (as a podcast would tend to be) the SUM of the phase-inverted channels is ZERO when mixed together to create a mono file = one side cancels the other.
