Subject:Will there be further bug fixes for v1?

Hi Sony & SFP Mac users-

I purchased a SFPM v1 license in December, and just over a month later got word from Sony about v2, with an invitation to upgrade for $99. I must say I'm less than thrilled at the cost of the upgrade, particularly as a user who only just got on board.

I am enjoying migrating to SFPM (from BIAS Peak). None of the new features of v2 are really compelling to me (esp. given how recently I shelled out $$ for SFPM). However, I do want to benefit from continued bug fixes. Will bug fixes that don't have to do with new features be backported to v1? Or is the only way to benefit from future bug fixes to upgrade to v2?

-Tom

I remember some bug fixes being issued for Sound Forge XP version 4.5h after version 5.0 came out, 15 years ago. I can't recall it ever happening since then. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

You've got no hope whatsoever! There have been no updates to V 1.0 for a year already and they are even completely ignoring my Support ticket requests for help.
I wouldn't be so quick to update to V 2.0. Try the trial version first and you will see that it is a long long way from being anything even remotely similar to SF for Windows. It is not even close to working properly. It is looking like it will take until at least V 4.0 or 5.0 before they get this app. working well, and a/c to past sony behaviour it looks like they are going to bring out no updates to each version, rather they are going to make you pay to upgrade each time.
I bought Twisted Wave in the meantime and I intend to wait a few versions till they get SF up to scratch.

I bought a copy of Twisted Wave as well to bridge the versions and they are super friendly and receptive to my questions and issues. (In fact, I found a pretty gnarly bug, which they fixed and then sent me a nightly version to verify that it fixed the issue for me.)

If you don't need the SF 2.0 features, I wouldn't invest...
