Acid pro 3.0:

When working with a music project, the audio files are on DVD, CD and at several pathes on several drives. Especially, the filenames are non-descriptive.

The "Export Loops" function now copies all files from its locations and changes the name of the copies by adding a speed information like " 120,00 BPM" to the filename.

But the old Acid project file is NOT changed.

a) How to avoid the addition of the speed infos ? I don´t like filenames with SPACES !!! I don´t wanna anything to be renamed at all !

b) How to modify the project file when the project should be rebuilt, so the old file sources are not available but there is JUST an export-loop directory ?
May I do this "in advance" when saving the project, i.e. a switch to relative file pathes if all is stored on one backup cd ?

This happens:
If a project file is opened with Acid, and the refered files are NOT at the requested position, there is JUST the option to "find" files AT THIS moment.

O.k. I might point to the ExportLoop directory. I learned that Acid asks if it finds "other" requested loops in that directory.

But if the filenames are changed, how should this work, automatically ?

I believe the "Export Loops" function is more suited for those using the loops in other programs like Vegas or other apps with support for the available formats (WAV, MP3, etc.).

Try using File>Save As on the menu bar and use "Copy all media with project" option? Note this copies the loops as they are only along with the project itself.

Alternatively, you can save using the ACD-ZIP format, which will embed the tracks within the project itself (and make the resulting project file size that much bigger).

Thanks alot.
This "copy all media with project" function is even in ACID Xpress 3.0 - somehow I was never pointed to it with Acid Xpress 2.0.
Great.
