Hey everyone... new to the boards here, stumbled across them in my search for a solution to my problem. Well, here it is... When recording into Acid, something is happening that is causing whatever it is I'm recording to get kinda cut off for a split second. It's hard to explain but during playback it sounds almost exactly the same as if the track I recorded were skipping. I've messed with all the settings I can that have anything to do with recording. This problem is happening in Acid Music 2.0 AND in Acid Pro 3.0. I know it's a problem in the actual recording because I can then take the track I recorded and listen to it in any other .wav player and it will still be messed up. It records almost perfectly except for at about 30-40 seconds of recording it skips 2 or 3 times and then seems to record fine after that. It's definately an acid problem though because I can record in other applications such as Cubase w/o any problems. Anyways... here is my setup, if it helps. Athlon XP 1500+ @ 1.5Ghz 512MB RAM Soundblaster 128D soundcard 30GB Maxtor hard drive I've gone thru and made sure I had all current drivers and have actually tried out FOUR different drivers for my sound card and messed with all the settings on it with no luck. PLEASE if anyone has any suggestions or can think of anything I missed (I mean I've gone thru EVERY setting I could...) please let me know! This is the first time I've fired up Acid in a long time and the first time I've used it on this new PC... and it really sux that when I finally have some inspiration and am ready to record my #1 program isn't working right!! By the way I've also tried messing with things outside of acid other than drivers and sound card settings. For instance I've gone in CTRL+ALT+DEL and turned off ALL other applications except the main two (systray and explorer or whatever). Someone pls help me this is really driving me nuts... |

See the thread from last week about synchronizing 2 large files. It helped us with some recording using a Celeron 400 w/128mb. You may already have done all the things suggested [see Joel @ SF's response] but it's worth checking out. Cheers, Steven Davies-Morris -- a 21st century schizoid man http://systemstheory.net |
