Subject:File compression?

Does anyone know of any loss-less file compression software? I am dealing with large spoken word files. I like to archive the material to keep for a while in case the client loses the CDs. Which they have done before. However each program takes 3-4 CDs @ 44.1-16 bit mono.
I don't want to go to a lower bit rate or sampling freq.
I thought SF-5 had a loss-less compression scheem, But I can't find anything about it in the manual or on-line. Can somebody help with this.. Winzip only reduces the files by 10-12% max.
Are there other loss-less compression software out there? Thanks for the help.

You're doing about as well as you're going to do with WinZip. You just
simply can't get better lossless compression than that with audio data.
See my discussion here:

However, that being said, i think you'll find that if you use MP3 with a
bitrate of 160 or higher, it will be as close to the original as you could
ever need. Then again, blank CDs are about 30 cents each, so you're
not going to break the bank storing it uncompressed either.

Actually, you might want to check out Sonic Foundry's own proprietary Perfect Clarity Audio format (PCA extension). It's a compressed format but yet is lossless. It can cut the file size significantly.

Forgot to add that you can only use Sonic Foundry products (like Sound Forge) with the PCA format, but you could easily convert it over to WAV if you need to share it.
