Hmmm. Not that i have any answers for you, but may i ask what external
device you're trying to use? What are you trying to accomplish? Your
question really doesn't let us know what you're trying to do with what.

I am using an ASR-X made by Ensoniq (similar to Akai's MPC2000). I am trying to maximize the capabilities of Acid 3.0 and the ASR-X. In other words exporting sounds from Acid into the device, as well as using Acid as an editing software for work done on the ASR-X! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ACID does not support sample dump via SCSI. However, Sound Forge 5.0 Pro has a sampler feature where you can transfer to and from the app via SCSI. I would suggest investing in Sound Forge 5.0 if you are looking for sample editing and sample transfer features.
Hope that helps.

However, you "should" (because SCSI is kind of pickey) be able to import and export sounds through SCSI. So you could make sound/trakcs/beats in the Enxoniq, dump them to the computer as a wav file (if the Enxoniq does not use a proprietary format) and edit/tweak/mangle them in SF or Acid. If the Ensoniq format is proprietary, you can use something like AWave or maybe Translator to make it a WAV file.

Good luck and Take care!
