I'm trying to make a sound track. is there a way to add multiple (23) mp3 files onto one audio track without doing 23 open-copy-pastes? |

Not in Sound Forge. Sound Forge is a single-track editor. You can do this in ACID Pro and, in a pinch, you can even use Vegas and Movie Studio as a multi-track audio editor. |

You can use a script. I've written a couple of scripts that do this. You just need to concatenate several MP3 files into one larger MP3 file, right? R. |

"in a pinch, you can even use Vegas and Movie Studio as a multi-track audio editor" Had to chuckle a little bit. Vegas *IS* a multi-track audio editor. That's what it was designed for. The video capabilities were added on later. |

I'll give it a try in Vegas 12. I just seem to have more granular control in SF 11. Thanks for your time. |

You could do it easily in Acid, Vegas or CD-Architect (if you have SF, you should have CD-A i9ncluded). Just drag'n'drop . Or to avoid re-encoding (assuming no cross-fading, levelling, etc required) you could try searching for "Lossless MP3 Cutter Joiner" . geoff Message last edited on2/27/2014 7:50:14 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

Each mp3 file contains a fair amount of header information, so they will not join seamlessly without using a command line hack or a utility especially designed for this purpose. There are several on download.cnet.com. People who try to create loops from mp3 in Sony products run into exactly the same problem. |

This should work just fine in Vegas. As long as the files are in the folder in the order you want them, just highlight and drag them into a track. You can then fine tune any cross-fading you want on an individual basis. Then just render it out to whatever format you want. This would then be importable back into Sound Forge as a file. R. |

"I just seem to have more granular control in SF 11" Jim, you may have quantize to frames enabled in Vegas. This forces all of your cursor and event movements to frame boundaries. Under Options turn off quantize, and then you can move things around as fine as you wish. |
