To replace a selection, I use the Edit.PasteSpecial.Overwrite command with contents from the clipboard. Works OK except that there are often clicks at the boundaries of the selection. To get around this, I create a region from the selection, zoom in to each boundary, select the waveform where the gap exists, and then interpolate. This works, except it is very tedious. Is there a setting to ensure that the overwrite function will also perform the interpolation at the boundaries?

Never had a problem with that. What are you pasting in?
Do you have snap to zero-crossing slope 'any slope' enabled?
There's other parameters in the "Options> Preferences> Edit" as well that can be tweaked.

I have used SF9 and the Overwrite function was just CTRL+SPACEBAR. Is there a way to program an overwrite shortcut in SF10?

Why did they change it?!?!

- I prefer to use the right-click option.. however, a key shortcut of your choice can be created in the "Options> Customize Keyboard" menu. The 'overwrite' command line is under, "Global> Edit> Paste> Paste overwrite"

Addendum:

- I don't think they (SCS) did. I just checked a still installed SF-9 on my laptop... and no overwrite keyboard shortcut is or was assigned. No overwrite command is listed in the 'Help> Keyboard shortcuts' either.
