Can anybody point me to where I can find swing/shuffle/jump/jazz drum loops? Thanks!

Here are the ACID loop libraries you should be looking at (listen to samples on this site):

On the Jazz Tip
Hi-Carb Acoustic Drum Grooves
Drum Tools
Drum Components (RAD)

Thanks for the tip. I THINK I've heard most of what's on those collections, except for the Hi-Carb, and there's hardly any shufflin' going on, if you know what I mean. I'm an old fart, and when I say jazz it doesn't seem to mean the same thing it means to a younger person! Blues/shuffles/jump blues/swing/jazz anyone?

Well, I'm merely a semi-old-fart but I haven't found anything in the swing realm in all of my searching. I've been looking for some Bop'ish loops too.

Most libraries are oriented toward the repetitive, as might be expected.

I've got 2 personal projects going wherein I'm cutting up existing loops into very small pieces to make some sounds that I will then combine and loop. This is the only workaround I can come up with for the kind of jazz I'd like to use.

Good luck, and let us know if you find anything suitable.

Seconded.

I came across Soundscan Vol 08 - Jazz & Latino Drum Loops by USB at http://www.timespace.com/ but I don't own it. There's an MP3 demo but who knows how the loops are organised. Probably better than On The Jazz Tip and might be worth investigating.

Regards

I'll try to figure out what that Soundscan thing sounds like. I'm no expert with this stuff, but I've made one track that actually swings, and it sure felt good! Maybe if we create enough demand, somebody will put something together. Thanks for your help. I don't feel so, sniff, alone, sniff, anymore :-).
