Try here. Also, try fiddling around with Sound Forge XP Studio, which comes with ACID Pro. Using XP Studio allows you to tweak a sample even more (like normalizing, trimming, etc.). HTH, Iacobus |

Making loops is well, tedious. You can only make loops if you have a mic, sythesizer or some instrument to make loops out of. You can either record in acid over a simple drum beat and then edit the track properties as a loop, or used Sound Forge XP which comes with Acid pro and record from there. If u do not have an instrument i geuss you could make loops out of other ones by zooming in a lot and combining loops in a really short sound and then render to wav. acid automatilcy saves beatmapper info with wavs and mp3. -XS |

"Making loops is well, tedious. You can only make loops if you have a mic, sythesizer or some instrument to make loops out of." Not really you can take one shots and create a Acid One shot drum sequence, You can take one note and make it into a bass line. Chop up a acoustic guitar riff in the Choppingblock render it to a new loop! A good place to check out is called http://acidfanatic.alienalchemy.com They have some cool stuff, tools, one shots, and loops. I hope this helps, George Ware |

To add to what's been said, the Chopper is a great way to cut/splice existing loops if you don't like the way they sound, do pseudo-granular synthesis, etc. An almost necessary tool if you like to fidget with loops. Alas, the Chopper is available only in ACID Pro, and not the other versions of ACID (Techno, Music, etc.). Iacobus |

One of the ways that I learn to clip and edit loops when I first started out is by just taking a loop that you like, take drums for instance. Paint the loop in, use the loop bar to close in on a section that you like, erase the material that you don't want, and then go to edit, mix to new track, and save it that way. I know this is a basic way of doing things, but it will give you a good lesson in editing. And keep in mind that even in the most basic Acid programs that you can erase, cut and paste, moving items around until you come up with the variation that you like. Some folks will say that this is the hard way to go about it, but I have found that by doing it this method, it really helped me sharpen up my skills for when I was able to get soundforge, by then I had a much better working knowledge of how to do edits, and then when I got soundforge, it was a breeze. My theory, is work with what you've got, until you can get what you need. And sometimes creativity is your best editing tool. Maninblac4 |
