Speaking of the versions of Sound Forge, how do you determine what version you have? If I go to HELP to get the version there, it simply says v5.0 build 117. Since there is no letter after 5.0, am I to presume that I have version "a"? I noticed that the latest version at Sound Forge is 5.0e build 248 (as of 16 JAN 02). Since this file is ~22MB, that'd be a serious download using a dialup connection at 26.6-28.0KBPS (I live a distance from the switch and DSN is still months away...). //Stu |

When i check Help, About, i see 5.0e build 248. I'm guessing since you don't see a letter there that you have the first shipped version. I downloaded it on my 56K modem with a 45,333 connect in less than two hours. I just let it run while i was out having dinner with a friend and it was finished when i got back. Not a big deal. Oh, if this helps you feel any better, i live about half a mile from the local switch and i've been told by my phone company that DSL will be available in my area in 2007, and at my office in 2015. YIKES! |

I can download the latest build in less than 2 minutes (via my cable modem connection). Damned lucky you can actually go out to dinner, you are. I have to stick around and actually check it out. :) Seriously, though...2007? 2015? Ow. Iacobus |

I need to do pitch bends/shifts but as all our stations are NT4, Acid Pro 3.0 isn't supported. Are you happy with 5e? Is it better than 5c/d? We have T1 so the download takes only a couple of minutes. Just got another SF5 package, it is 5b and comes with the Noise Reduction Plug In/1001 sound effects. |

To be honest, i only upgraded to 5.0e because "it was there". I was using 5.0c before that and had no troubles. I'm probably just not pushing this stuff any where near as hard as the audio pros do. I've never had any difficulty with either release. |

Right then, I'll install it. Thanks. BTW: the update downloaded in a minute and a half, wish we could get this speed with Kazaa! |

I purchased SF 5.0 when it first came out and have NEVER upgraded. What am I missing out on? I haven't really been using it as much as I thought I would so I never bothered. Thanks for your help. M |
