Help! Acid 3.0 Pro keeps crashing! -ACID Product Family

Subject:Help! Acid 3.0 Pro keeps crashing! Posted by: townandcountry Date:1/16/2002 8:03:07 PM I have a problem with Acid 3.0 Pro... What's odd about this problem is that it only started recently, I used to be able to do the same things only a couple of days ago with no problems. Anyway, the problem is: It has to do with the FX chains, I've figured out. Certain kinds of effects cause the program to crash. The program does not crash until it reaches a point in the project where a particular kind of FX is sending a signal. (and even when it does crash, it still plays the sound until the end of the project, and the crash-causing FX are audible and they sound fine, and only when you hit enter on the error message does the sound actually stop). Anyway, I've found that it tends to be specific kinds of effects that make the program crash. It doesn't seem entirely consistant, but what does seem consistant is that it never has a problem with any kind of Reverb or Delay. And also it seems like what tends to make it crash on most occasions is different kinds of flangers or frequency filters. What's even stranger is: if I open up a saved file with an FX chain that has been making it crash, and I remove that FX chain, and then I add a new FX chain with the SAME parameters, and I play the project, it DOES NOT crash, and I can work on the project until the next time I load it. Reply by: Rockitglider Date:1/17/2002 7:32:32 AM Hello, The reason I asked about you sound card is the error you had has SB Live stuff in it So I'm thinking maybe there is a problem with Acid and the EAX effects in the SB Live software. Make sure you go to creative and get the newest drivers for Win ME, I think it's Liveware 3.0 for Win ME. See ya, Rockit
