Anybody here got one ? I'm not convinced that the driver I see is ASIO, though is supposed to be. Others on Presonus forum see the word ASIO in their applications. Presonus Tech Support suggest it is ASIO, but I don't see a non-ASIO alternative there, which makes me suspicious. What I see is a device "Paefirestudio" , but audio performance seems sluggish. How best to check if indeed ASIO ? geoff |

I had the Presonus USB version. Asio all the way. Not a bad unit. Never any problems in the studio or on the road. Why not USB? Brian |

Why USB ? Why not ? Far more potential complications, no halving of the effective bandwidth (OK there';s heaps anyway), no DMA - all pipes thru CPU, and it's what I've got ! geoff |

@ Why USB ? Simply because it works in Acid. Never had throughput or IRQ/DMA problems ever. I can get as low as 128 samples (latency) with USB ASIO. Nothing ever choked on me even when recording multiple tracks at one time. Anyway, I hope you get it sorted out. Brian www.JazzHouseBlues.com |
