I haven't use SL for a good while now, but needed it and had to re-enter my Serial # again. But now, although I've got a file imported and have the section selected that I want to extract, only the Graph and the Info/Sampler tools are active. Does anyone know how to make the Extract tools active? What am I doing wrong?

I'm also wondering if this is related to the registration issue of system changes. I haven't made any but it sure seems like I've got SL with limited capabilities.

I don't have access to my system at the moment, but I do remember one thing that I always forget about.

You must have an active new layer selected to extract 'into' before the tools work. You can make a selection in one layer, but must extract 'into' a different layer.

I will double check when I have more time.

Back in the studio. You must have specified an active destination layer before the extract and other tools are enabled.

I was right, because I run into the very same problem every time I open up Spectral Layers after having been away for awhile.

Yes you need to have a Layer selected (RED) in the Layers window at right side before those Tools become available.

Thanks, that got it! This is the first file I've tried it on so I don't think I even knew that. It worked great of getting a couple of sniffles out of a wedding track!! The music was playing and the sniffles were very obnoxious. It removed them perfectly and left the music alone! This is COOL!!
