I get the following error when running STARTUP to install Sound Forge 4.0d: 16 BIT WINDOWS SUBSYSTEM system\currentcontrolset\control\virtualdevicedrivers. VDD. Virtual device driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose "close" to terminate the application. ("ignore" is also an option) CD Architect 4.0g is currently running fine with W2K and NTFS. Sound Forge 5.0 is also running fine. It's not important if I cannot run 4.0 but I've read where some users prefer 4.0 over 5.0 so I wanted to see if I could see any preference to the older version. Reply by: kryten Date:1/14/2002 9:47:24 PM I doubt that you will get it to install (at least safely) since virtual device drivers (VXD files) are protected system files and W2k will refuse to let another program replace them. If you can get a copy of 4.5 (instead of 4), you may have better luck. I have installed that on W2k without a problem.
