is there any way to seperate a song so that all the instruments can be saved to different files?

I presume you're talking about a recording that has been mixed down
to two-track stereo or one-track mono already? Sorry, no. Once a song
has been mixed, it's mixed for good.

If you had the original multitrack master you could edit the individual
tracks with Vegas.
