I have an ECHO MIA Soundcard = 1Stereo/2Mono Ins - 1Stereo/2Mono Outs & SPDIF. I am using ACID 3.0, Vegas Audio, & SoundForge 5.0. I would like to set it all up so that I could record Multiple Tracks Simultaneously. Currently all of my tracks are mixed down via and external mixer and recorded as a single Stereo track. Is it possible to use SPDIF to record Multiple Tracks Simultaneously? Or do I need to get a "breakout box" and Multi-In Soundcard? |

HollowPoint, Acid can only record two channels at a time, regardless of how they're bussed or what input they come through. If you want to record more than two tracks (like 3, 4, 10, or more) at a time, you'll need to use Vegas Video\Audio. Hope this helps, Nick |

So ACID 3.0 WILL record 2 tracks? Do you mean 2 Stereo tracks or 2 Mono tracks? For this I imagine I would still need a soundcard that will split these signals into 2 so that the program could record them as 2 seperate signals, right? Live, Laugh, LOVE! Lamont aka HollowPoint |

ACID will record ONE single track, which may be either mono or stereo. Additional tracks can only be recorded one at a time. |

If you've got Vegas Audio why would you record audio into Acid? I assume you're syncing the 2 apps via a midi router, right? |

Dude, you bought the wrong audio card if you want to record seperate instruments on seperate channels. MIA was specifically developed for folks who are only bringing one track into the computer at a time and who do the vast majority of their mixing in the digital realm. Layla24 or Mona would do the trick for you, assuming that you do your multi-tracking in a program that supports it. -Tad |
