Subject:Pro 11...Where's FX my preview button?

I noticed there are a few other posts about this but wanted to chime in...
since there's no FX preview button in the new Pro 11 upgrade what's the point of having a revamped plug-in chain if you can't PROCESS the effect to only a "highlighted" portion of the audio? (For example add echo FX on just to the end of the audio)
Sure I get that now you can just preview FX now by simply playing the file with the Plug-In chain loaded but the SAVING options around that are impractical as they process the entire file that way.

Seems now you have to go to the favorites drop down menu and fish through all of your many effects and do it that way but what a time waster. Plus that way doesn't it you only process one FX at a time? I'm referring to just processing a highlighted portion of my file here.) The preview button was more user friendly and practical.
I think the idea with the revamp of the plugins was to make things simpler so is there something I'm overlooking?
If not...well I'd may have to go back to using Sound Forge 10 as I need this option the most.

I guess i'm not following you. What does the preview button have to do with processing part of the file? Preview is only for, well, previewing. You still process a section by highlighting it and running the effects process.

I absolutely agree. The workflow that has worked for a lot of Sound Forge versions is busted in SF11. I'm not sure who likes this?
I have posted a suggest to product design. I was told by a live chat representative yesterday that the more entries on a suggestion topic the more they pay attention so I encourage anyone who wants to be able to use SF11 in the manner that they are used to please post a product suggestion.
I am beyond annoyed at the removal of the 'process selection' button from the FX chain dialog.
What were they thinking?

I must be in a parallel universe; in my copy of SoundForgePro11, I can highlight a section of an audio file, goto "Process", "Effects" or "Tools" menus, select an 'effect' and, in all instances where we get a subsequent popup window with settings to manipulate, Preview [yes there's a button for that too!] the sound; when happy with the settings I can click OK whereupon the 'effect' is applied to the highlighted area, as expected..... how is this different to what we had in the past?

As ChristoC stated, it functions as before (in previous versions) with a single effect.. The Plugin Chainer has been changed. To function similar to previous SF versions, "Apply Plug-in Chain" must be enabled, under "FX Favorites"
I prefer the way it worked in prior to SF11 as well.

Could you please explain this in detail? I went to FX Favorites - Apply Plug-in Chain, but I don't see an "enable" anywhere. How exactly do you "enable" it?

Thanks!

Go to FX Favorites - Apply Plug-in Chain; Open a previously saved Plug-In Chain you desire, or make one; Preview and adjust until happy; when you press OK the Plug-In Chain is applied to your selection; if no selection was made first, then it is applied to whole file.
