Hello to you all, Yesterday I purchased an upgrade to version Acid Pro 7, which I would like to install on my laptop running Windows 8.1. The software Acid Pro 7 is considered to be compatible with version 8.1 of Windows, but I'd like to know, if I have to follow a few special precautions before installing the software, so i do not have to encounter problems and enjoy, from the start of my product. .. On the same machine i'm running Sonar X2, Studio Producer 2, Komplete Elements 7 without any major flaws. Every tips will be very appreciated |

Well ... Speaking amicably, you certainly can not say that this is a forum that is buzzing with activity ... No problem: solved all through the chat support, great :-) I have not yet installed Acid Pro 7 on Windows 8.1, I'm trying on my old desktop with Windows Vista X64 and, for now, everything seems to work without any major problems ... I've been using since version 2.0 Acid Music, Acid was and remains a valuable software, I use it always with Sonar and a few plugins, I hope, with all my heart, that Sony does not abandon this gem ... I am very confident, Sony has always pursued with courage their products even in spite of the market (... anyone remember the MiniDisc?) And I hope to do the same with Acid ... A hug to all lovers of Acid like me;-) |

I'm running Acid on Windows 7 64 bit. I think I just installed it using Revo Pro Uninstaller. I think the safest answer is use imaging software before installing. Then if results are not satisfactory go back in time with your image. It takes me little over 5 minutes to recover my entire system as I have separated the data from the system. I'm doubtful about using Acid on Windows 8 and will be interested to hear your results. It may be worth using the compatibility wizard. But if Sony haven't brought at least 64 bit to the table by early next year I'll probably move to Reaper. |

Installed AP7e on a brand new VAIO Tap11 with Win 8.1 64bit - everything's working great. 32bit goes in Program Files (x86), 64bit into Program Files, etc (and the corresponding vstplugins). The only "problem" is Acid finding SampleTank 2 when I try to open projects created on xp / win7. Because it's 32bit it installed in (x86). The file path seems to be the issue (since "x86" is not in the file path on xp/7) but other IK apps open fine with xp/7 files and SampleTank 2 opens fine in new projects. if file path consistency is to be maintained a 64bit version is needed...? Update... Checked IK's faq/facebook pages and a 64bit version of SampleTank (v3) is coming soon (actually winter NAMM 2014) And it will not be free unsurprisingly. It will open previous libraries thankfully. Hopefully they will address "2" products at some point. Message last edited on12/7/2013 5:08:50 PM byAudioVizionz. |
